Have a Heart for Kids - 2023

Uplifting Montana parent voices

Sharing stories

“My day at the capital on Feb. 3, 2023, will be a day I will never forget. It was the first time in my life as a parent that I felt heard and not so alone. My voice was heard that day – not just by representatives, senators, parents, and agencies – but my daughter was with me. She saw me use my voice to advocate for her. That was such a powerful moment. And afterward she hugged me and cried, telling me thank you. She is just 6 years old, yet she knows the reason we were there was for her and for every child in Montana.”

Building a united front

From the lack of child care to expensive or non-existent early learning options, hardworking Montana families face numerous barriers when it comes to the care and education of their young children and their ability to participate in the workforce. Our goal with our inaugural Have a Heart for Kids Day event was to raise awareness and encourage state lawmakers to invest in our children, and in our future.  Learn more.

Partner With Us!

Working in partnership is a critical way to ensure diverse voices are heard and like-minded people, groups & organizations get connected to combine resources and manpower for work on a common goal.

A school district superintendent may want to work more directly with partners on a prekindergarten initiative, child care providers may want to join forces to speak with lawmakers about the importance of equitable employee pay or a parent may want to speak with someone from the Zero to Five Montana team to learn how they can join a coalition, network or get information on future events.
