2023 Legislative Session
Early childhood policies greatly impact the lives of children and families across Montana.
The 2023 Legislative Session brings an opportunity for Montana’s lawmakers to make a long-overdue investment in our children’s critical first five years of life. The impacts of meaningful contributions to early childhood would reach far beyond the homes of families, benefiting small businesses and our economy alike.
Looking for bill tracking information? Scroll down to view our early childhood bill tracker. Due to the number of child protective services/welfare/courts related bill drafts (roughly 200), we plan to track such bills as they are introduced. Please note that “LC” refers to a bill draft that has not been introduced yet. When a bill has been introduced, it will receive a bill number, for example “HB 527” or “SB 220.” There are many bills to track and we do our best to keep this list exhaustive of all the early childhood bills and their updates. If you see one that has not been updated or is missing a bill that you think should be on our radar, please reach out!
